Knowing we have the support and backing of such a huge team across Australia and the UK gives us confidence and peace of mind that our clients are always going to get the best service possible."
Tegan Rose and Lee-Anne Hunt- The HR Dept Ringwood

A bit about you and your backgrounds?

We are two working mothers from the Eastern Suburbs. We have over 20 years’ experience in HR, change, learning and development and communications for small to large organisations, nationally and internationally. We are extremely passionate about supporting businesses to grow and thrive through good people practices. In turn, this helps our community be productive and successful. We are also passionate about the people behind business success, those who own/ run the business as well as those who keep the wheels turning behind the scenes.

Why The HR Dept?

We had dreamt of having our own HR business. But the timing never felt quite right with family commitments and not having had the experience in setting up a business from scratch including all the marketing/IT/accounting etc. We were putting it off until we were able to focus on these things in more depth. Then we stumbled across an ad for The HR Dept in the Australian Human Resources Institute magazine. We both got quite excited by the idea of doing what we loved, with the support and backing of a network of professionals and an established brand.

What kind of support do you receive?

The support from our Australian network, head office and the UK is incredible. To be able to hit the ground running, focus on networking and growing the business immediately without having to worry about the marketing, website, IT etc. is something you can’t put a price on.

What do you like most about working with SMEs?

They are so genuine and fun. Real people running real businesses. We connect with them immediately as we’re all trying to do the same thing – grow a successful business serving our local community.

Our advice and expertise is appreciated and respected, and we see the difference we can make to a business and its people.

What does you HR Dept future hold?

We want to become an integral part of our business community, providing professional and timely support to our clients and helping them grow. We are ambitious, and hope to take on further territories in the near future. We’d like to employ a team of people who share our values and want to contribute to our vision of partnering with our local community.

What is it like being part of The HR Dept franchisees' network, having other HR Professionals around you?

Knowing we have the support and backing of such a huge team across Australia and the UK gives us confidence and peace of mind that our clients are always going to get the best service possible, no matter what the issue.

We are six months into our business dream and couldn’t be happier with how much we have achieved and the success of our business.
